An Apology and a fun download I found

First off, I wanted to apologize for being so absent lately. I've been so busy. I feel so guilty for not being here. :(

Today I am sitting down with my lil Cass. She was up all night sick. Poor thing. Too many sour gummy's at the Basketball game I guess. LOL I am so glad to be able to spend the day with her but sorry for the reason. She is feeling much better now.  Just so exhausted from being up every hour last night. Plus I didn't want to send her to school not knowing if she could keep anything down. :( That would be bad. So we tried a little piece of dried toast this morning and it hurt her tummy. Long story short, she is sitting here with me watching Sponge Bob and playing games on my iPad as I write this post. LOL

My busy life has gotten in the way of my crafting lately. I have been making things but have been lazy on taking pictures. So I will try to catch up. We have been busy with basketball, many school events and meetings. We even signed up all 4 kids for baseball. The two lil girls will be on the same team. Yeah! That will be so fun for them. ChaCha will be on the Minor girls team and CJ is on Major Boys again this year. Next year he bumps up to Juniors. WHOA! My kids are growing so fast.  Hubby has been busy working very long hours, so every precious moment is spent with us watching movies, playing games, shooting hoops, hanging out or bike riding. I don't see him slowing down anytime soon. We are so fortunate and thankful for the work provided and can't complain.

So today...I thought I would share a really cool downloadable goodie I found. You may have seen it. It was featured in Better Homes and Gardens "do it yourself" magazine.

It's another cool way to do a growth chart. Cathe from Just Something I Made came up with this marvelous idea. She scanned one of her vintage measuring tapes for you to print out. It's life size and awesome!
Visit HERE to download yours. She even has and update at the bottom of the post offering a metric version. Cool! Thanks Cathe for the great download! Be sure to check out all her awesome DIY projects HERE too! She is one, pretty amazing and creative woman! I was lucky to have found her site!

Hope you enjoy my fun lil find!

One more quick thing...I was playing with a new idea. Pinterest is another fabulous site that I often use. I take it on the go with me all the time on my iPhone. LOL I am sure many of you do too!

So here's my thought...what do you think of having a Pinterest Challenge Party? Putting our Pins in motion. LOL I find so many ideas on there that I want to do and haven't. I though if I did it here, I would accomplish more of them. ;o) I thought of either posting a specific pin of mine that we could all make, then link up. That way we can see all the different versions from that one Pin. Or...each week you can link up your own Pinterest Pin that you loved and made yourself. I think it would be a fun way for us to make our favorite pins rather than just dreaming about making them. Ha!Ha! The idea would be to have you post a "How you made your favorite pin" Directions how you made your pin, including photos of yours and the pic of the original pinned inspiration (include their link). Then link it up here at a party to share with others.
What do you think? Would that be fun?

I can't wait to here what you think! Leave a comment below to let me know. Also, please share this idea with others. Have them come here for a comment too. I would love to see how many would like to be involved in a Pinterest Challenge Party!
I will be leaving a post on my Facebook page too. So you can comment there as well! I so need to be on there more too! LOL

Thanks All! Have a Perfect Day and a FUN weekend too!

The Teacher Wife | Blog Review

The Teacher Wife
I have a great blog for you to visit. The Teacher Wife is a great resource for parents and teachers. Lindsey over at "the teacher wife" is a newlywed and a new teacher. She completed her first year with a great group of first graders and is hoping to move into the second grade right along with them. How fun, to have the same group of kids two years in a row! I myself will have a first grader, come August, so I am excited that Lindsay contacted me for a review. I look forward to reading through all her current and future posts. Lindsey's hope is that we can generate some support amongst teachers and parents. I think that is a great idea! Many of our teacher find their projects and additional fun lessons online. It would be great to connect them all on blogs. Don't you?!? I also think it could be a way for parents to connect with teachers, whether they homeschool or just want more activities to do with their kids after school. I especially like that I can find things for them to do during summer months too!

Here is what you can find on Lindsey's blog. For Purchase and Freebies too!
Find a bunch of cool Freebies! Like...a Noun Booklet, Friendship Mini Book, 100 Book Challenge, Make your own Clock worksheet and more!

Visit Lindsey's Shop HERE! Where you can purchase lessons and also download freebies!

Don't forget to go and look around Lindsey's Site! And let her know I sent you with a lovely comment! ;-)

So I was hoping to have a last minute Mother's Day craft for you today, but alas I do not.
I have not been in the blogging mood lately. My personal blog is sorely neglected. I used to post quite regularly but only posted 13 times in March and 13 in April. I guess I'm too busy playing outside with the kids and just don't want to take the time to blog.

The other reason I haven't been blogging as much is because I'm "pinning" more. Have you heard of Pinterest? It's an amazing website that lets you bookmark or catalog ideas and creative things you see on the web. I've tried many ways in the past to bookmark great websites and ideas. I used delicious for a while and it's a good way to bookmark things but the problem is there are no photos to go with what you've bookmarked. I've added a page to my blog called "Someday" and it's crafts I've seen on the web that I'd love to try someday. But Pinterest has them all beat. I started pinning in February and can't stop. If you are a pinner you know what I mean. It's very addicting so be careful!!!

Straight from the site:
What is Pinterest?
Think of Pinterest as a virtual pinboard — a place where you can create collections of things you love and "follow" collections created by people with great taste.

People use Pinterest to collect and share all sorts of things -- wedding inspiration, favorite T-shirts, DJ equipment. You name it, people are pinning it.

We know you have great taste in something. Our mission is to make Pinterest the best place for you to share your taste with the world.

So, it's a great way to see what other people find interesting and creative and it's a fun way to bookmark ideas and projects. I would love to see what you're pinning. Come on over to my Pinterest Page and follow me (jamielynn)!

I suggest that you add the "pin it" to your toolbar so that when you're blog surfing you can pin what you find right away and won't loose it. It's a great way to keep things in a catalog so you don't loose ideas and also so that you can give credit where credit is due.

And if you're interested to see if anything has been pinned from your website or blog just type in "http://pinterest.com/source/name of your website" ex: "http://pinterest.com/source/thetrendytreehouse.blogspot.com"

I know some of you are pinning and I'd love to see your boards!

And speaking of giving credit where credit is due this is where I found the idea for the "copy" and "paste" onesies for twins!

Happy Pinning!!!!

    Fun Personalized T-Shirts

    I LOVE blog hopping.
    I LOVE reading blogs.
The wealth of creative ideas is A-MAZING!

I will confess, however, that I hardly ever log into my google reader
to read the blogs that I "follow" or have just added to my reader.
The shear volume of content to read scares me off.

But there are blogs that I visit on a regular basis...
they usually get added to my links/creative blogs list on my own blog,
so that I know to go back and check for new ideas.

I guess you could call me a blog snob.
    Or just a busy mom...
because I'm pretty particular about what I spend my time reading.
I'm grateful that you other blog snobs busy moms take time to read
my ramblings...here and on my regular blog.

One creative mom that I visit often is Cheri at
I am Momma Hear Me Roar!
She's always got new and fun ideas to share,
plus she's got little boys in her life and we all know
that sometimes theres a shortage of awesome things
    for awesome little boys.

So, I started making some "Cheri knock-offs"
for some of the little boys in my life.
Not only do I have a son but I also have four godsons
that I like to make gifts for.

All you need is a plain shirt,
a bleach pen, some embroidery floss,
and you can do some freezer paper stenciling
like I showed you a couple of weeks ago.
Make sure to check out Cheri's blog for a bleach pen tutorial.

This first one is pretty much a direct copy of this shirt Cheri made.
    My godson Asher LOVED it!
The second one I made was for my godson Jeremiah.
I made this one based on this shirt of Cheri's.
Obviously mine is a little more on the messy side,
but I like it like that...
    and Jeremiah loves it.
    That's all that matters.
The kid put it on right away.
(I guess it helps that he's really into muscle shirts right now too.)
So, go grab a bleach pen, some old t-shirts and start making things brand new!
Oh and Cheri has TONS of other stuff, not just shirts for little guys!
    Go check it out!

I've got a couple of giveaways going on over at my regular blog,
so make sure to stop over and check em out!
