Shrinky Dink Keychain - Teacher Gift

Last week I shared a Shrinky Dink Necklace for a Teacher Gift. I mentioned that we were also making keychains. Well I am sharing those today. They turned out just as cool as the necklace. I also combined another idea for this gift that I found on Pinterest. The "mint" teacher gift. It was so cool, I had to include it!

I started by making the "mint" poem in PS5. I used a frame brush in green of course. I also made my text green. Below you can copy the image to use for yourself. Personal use only please and thank you.
Next I printed this on some card stock paper. Cut them out, added a hole punch to one side and set aside for later.

I made all of the teacher name pieces with Shrinky Dink Printable Paper. You can visit last weeks post for the FREE personal use only printable to make yours too!

After we made ours we added them to keychains. Then added extra beads and another shrinky dink that the kids made and picked out.

Then we made up the "MINT" bags. Each bag (clear gift bags were found in the kids party section) had 4 York patties, Tic Tac Mints, Mint M and M's and a handful of Lifesaver Mints.

The kids tied the bags shut and then we used green ribbon to tie on the keychains and poems.  Curl the ribbon and your done. It really was an easy gift to make.

Here is a close up of our key chains.
And here is how the complete package looked. I know our teachers will love them!
Don't forget to have the kids sign their names to the poem. I think it's more personal than just printing them!
Today is also our kiddos last day of school. They are very excited to start their summer break! See you again soon! ;D

Garlic Potato Salad

I made the best potato salad last week and again this weekend. It's pretty traditional but I added a few things to make it my own and it turned out so, so good.
...What you will need...
1 bag of red potatoes
8 hard boiled eggs
4 medium dill pickles (diced)
2 small cans of diced olives with jalapeno peppers
1/4 cup minced and roasted garlic
Butter
Garlic salt
Mayo and Mustard

TIP...So to make things easy I bought egglands best already boiled eggs and steamer zip loc bags. It made making this salad a breeze.

Start by adding your minced garlic into a pan on the stove with some butter. Keep it on low and slow roast it while you cut the potatoes. I cut my potatoes in to 1/4's. Then I placed them into a zip loc steamer bag with some butter and garlic salt. You will fill up three medium steamer bags. Cook each bag for 8 minutes. By the time all the potatoes are done cooking, your minced garlic is ready. Add all the potatoes and minced garlic into a large bowl.
Using a fork and knife, dice up the potatoes and mix in the garlic.
Next add in your diced pickles, eggs and olives with jalapenos. If you are worried about the jalapenos being too hot, don't, they are not at all. It does however add a nice little bite to the salad. Mmmmm! Mix all ingredients together.
Lastly, add in mayo and mustard. I used  2 cups of mayo and 3 tbsp of mustard. Mix in and your done. You can add more garlic salt and pepper too if you like. I did. I like garlic. ;D
You made just enough to share at a party or put away in the fridge for a daily nibbling. LOL Enjoy! I am eating some left overs right now as I write this. YUM!

Shrinky Dink Necklace - Teacher Gift

Hey Strangers! I know, I know, I have been MIA lately. Sorry and without warning. We have had some crazy couple of weeks here. My youngest daughter had a scare and we have been a little worried. To make a long story short, she is 7 and lost her ability to speak for about 5 minutes along with tingling on her right side. :( So very scary. The CT scan was normal but we will be having an EEG, MRI, hormone testing done and seeing a neurologist too. My oldest daughter had 3 similar events so we will be testing her also. I am praying that it is just a hormone imbalance and panic attack. Please keep my family in your prayers as we try to figure all this out.

Also, I was working on my kiddos school yearbook. It turned out great.

Ok on to what I am sharing today.  The kids have 9 days of school left and we have been working on teacher gifts.
...What you will need...
Ink Jet Shrinky Dink Papers
Image downloads
Colored Pencils
Hole Punch
Necklace
Jewelry Gems
Jewelry making supplies

First start by saving the files below.
Personal Use only. I do not have rights to these images!
I removed our teacher names on these so you can add in your own.

Print the images on your Shrinky Dink Ink Jet paper. Have the kiddos help you color them in with their colored pencils.
Don't forget to have the kids write on the backs. Their names, year and some cute decorations.
Cut out, hole punch and cook in the oven. 290 degrees until images shrink and lay flat.
Now you can start making your jewelry. Use your tools to add rings to the shrinky dink teacher pieces. Then start adding them and gems to a necklace. Wrap them up for he last day of school. ;)
Here are a couple up close pics.
We plan on making some key chains with these too. So I will share those soon. Hope you like what we shared today!

Scrambled French Toast

I was making french toast for the kiddos one morning before school when my son asked if I could make "Scrambled French Toast."  At first I kinda laughed but then told him it was an awesome idea and we'd try it.  He was excited because it was his idea. CUTE!  So we tried it Sunday morning, MOTHER'S DAY! Hope you all had a great day with your families!!!

The Scrambled French Toast was so, so good! And just as easy to make as the Scrambled Pancakes. YUM!

Start by breaking up one package of buttermilk bread. Mix up your egg mixture. I used 8 eggs, cinnamon, sugar, and a touch of vanilla.
Next pour your egg mix over the bread and stir in coating all the bread.
Place in your skillet with some butter and cook! Stir around and break up the bread so you are sure to cook all of the egg coating.
Serve with powdered sugar, syrup, jam or just butter. You will love it and it may remind you of bread pudding too! Mmmm!!!

Here is my plate.  Served up on my Disney Thumper plate and some strawberries. So good!  Will definitely make this again.  Good job to my son for coming up with this yummy treat!
