Alice in Wonderland Movie Review

We took the kids to see the new
"Alice in Wonderland" movie.

We all loved it. At first I was a little worried it might be too old for the kids. Worried it might scare them a little, but NO WAY. They loved it. Definitely a film to take the family to.

I loved the new story line! I felt sorry for Alice in the beginning for being at such a drab engagement party. LOL But so excited for her throughout the movie because of how the story played out. Very empowering in the end for Alice. Love that!

The characters were so interesting. Just look at these photos and you will fall in love with them. Each one had a unique characteristic about them. Very quirky and cute too! I loved the costumes, makeup and little funnies throughout the movie. So many laughs and giggles.

The only negative thing I would say is the movie was a little dark. But that could have been our theatre. So not sure. If you saw this movie, What did you think?

I can't give away too much of the story because I don't want to ruin it for you. So I will leave it at that.

Hee! Hee! Go See it!

I recommend this movie for sure. And I am going to add it to my movie collection. You should too! And don't forget to come back and share what you thought of the movie. Would love to hear your thoughts.

  1. I want to see this so badly! Just haven't been able to! Did you see it in 3D? If so, would you say it was worth it, or is regular just as good?

    Thanks!

  2. I LOVED it... though I'd be surprised if I didn't. I think Tim Burton is absolutely amazing and I've always love Alice in Wonderland. When you add Johnny Depp and a whole range of British actors, how can you go wrong? We saw the 3D version. I was hesitant at first but it was the most convenient time to go that wasn't sold out so we tried it and were pleasantly surprised. There were only a few spots where the 3D seemed "difficult" to watch and it was easy to look loved that there was no rewrite of the original story at all... LOVED it... and thought that this storyline was a nice twist of it all. I'll definitely be ordering this one from amazon in a few months (they've said they're releasing it to DVD 3mos after the movie release!)

  4. Absolutely adored it! It was dark, not just your theater. But it *is* a Tim Burton. He seems to always have a more twisted view point.

  6. I know I already responded to some by email, but I wanted to make a quick comment here too!

We saw this in 3D. It was ok. But not worth the extra money we spent. I didn't like it so much because it was dark. Oh and glad to hear it wasn't just my theatre. I think the regular viewing would be just fine to go see.

Messy Mommy, I will check out Movie Monday. Thanks for sharing.

Have a terrific weekend everyone. I will be sitting at a Home & Garden show all weekend trying to sell fence. Yeah! For Hubby.

  9. We saw it in IMAX 3D and we loved it. Definitely the best way to have seen it. My oldest daughter (who is 11) is a huge fan of Johnny Depp...loves him (he could be her father, even a grandfather almost). I thought it was a great family movie for children ages 7 and up and maybe a little dark for children younger than that. We only took our three oldest children and left our three babies with a sitter.

IMAX 3D is a little expensive and not something we do all the time, but the way to go for movies with a lot of vibrant colors and graphics. I certainly give it two thumbs up.

Is there a blog out there that does regular movie reviews? I would love to be part of something like that. Maybe we could even come up with something.

  10. I haven't seen it yet myself. However, someone from another email group I'm in mentioned about a character getting their eyes gouged out. Ugg. I know all kids are different, but if you were to generalize, what is the youngest age you would think this is appropriate for?
