Mirror, Mirror on the Wall...

Mirror, Mirror on the Wall...
I took Mom out to lunch today...
Then we went thrift shopping! We hit the Mother Load of Gold finds!!!
This Mirror was just one of the treasures!
This antique mirror had been painted! With heavy enamel white paint...
I wanted to restore the antique look! BUT... it was TOO heavy with paint to sand & distress!
SO...I used some stain to quickly add character!
It only took a few moments to transform and restore it to its previous antiqued beauty!
I used a stain pen, in a Golden Oak color!
Just color it on and wipe it off!
AND let dry...
It's THAT simple!
The back of my $20 dollar mirror! It is in really good shape!
 Dried and ready to hang...
To protect my walls, I place felt pads on the back . It slightly lifts it away from the wall and stops scratches from happening.
Easy Peasy, peel & stick!
 LOVE it!!!
This is how it looks outside the mirror! This is a tall chest of drawers. I love the height this combo creates! This corner was so plain!
I don't have a lot of free wall space...
so we cornered the dresser!
Like most people we bought our furniture while living in another house... Sooo, we place furniture items where we CAN!
ARG!!! :S
(Yes..I said; CAN! Where WE are ABLE TOO!)
Love my Bedroom set...we have had it for 20+ years and its beauty lives on....
*When I finish my Master Bedroom make over...
I WILL SHARE!
 Light ON!
Light OFF!
Clap On..Clap Off...!
Haha, those of you that know the TV commercial I'm referring too...
I know you are LAUGHING!
I couldn't resist! :)

Desk for Boys Room - Re-Purpose

I had my eye on some lockers I saw in a shop, but they were not for sale.  Well I finally got the call that they were available and I picked them up. I have had them for a little while now and knew I wanted to do something cool with them. First I just put them in my laundry room for storage. Nope, not what I wanted. So I moved them into the kids room. My plan was to put them together and place a table underneath for a cool media center. Again, I didn't care for it! Finally, I found exactly what they were meant for! YAY! My mom gave me a retro table and chair that fit perfectly under the lockers. LOVE IT!
And I couldn't resist taking a pic of my little NERD. They were playing dress up during my little redo! ;)
After I got it set up, it was time to decorate. I found an old atlas at a thrift store a year or so ago and wanted to make a wreath with it. Good thing I didn't because I ended up using it as wall paper behind the desk. I plan on using more on more of the wall, but this was cool and had to do it now. When I use more of it, I will scan it into the computer so I can print them and be able to use both side of the paper.  Then I will either pin them to the wall or glue them. I like the idea of pinning, that way, if I change the look later down the road, it will be easy to change. But for now, the map can be used for years to come. It's not too young or old.
Next I just added in some old road signs, soda crates, globe and a few knick knacks to finish it off. LOVE this desk area for my son. So excited at how it turned out and he has plenty of storage too!
I think the kids loved how it turned out too!
And my crazy kids had to post silly, of course! Love them!
I have a whole bunch of regular size lockers too that we got from a local junior high.  I am holding on to them until I can figure out exactly what I want to do with them.
Any ideas? What you you do with lockers?

Thanks for stopping by to read Trendy Treehouse! XOXO

Hi All! I wanted to share some of my Thrift Store Finds.

And if you know how to add a Facebook like box to the sidebar, I would love your help. I cannot get it to work for me. :( Thanks.

...Ok on to my awesome finds...

I went thrift shopping with my Mom and cousin Connie today! We all found some pretty cool stuff.

Pink Birdies-Wall Decor
These two cute lil birds will be so cute on the wall in my lil girls room! They have openings on the back to hang on the wall. I think they would be cute next to a painted tree on their wall. Now I just have to paint a tree on the wall. ;)
Full Bed
This bed was a great find. A full bed for my lil girls room. I plan on painting it to match their room. The paint is orange and pink. They both wanted to choose a color. So 2 walls will be pink and 2 will be orange. Both colors match their bedding perfectly which makes buying a full bed a little concerning. I don't want to change the bedding. So if you have an idea on how to easily make 2 twin quilts into 1, please share.
Here is the bed.
Game Table
I found this cool table that will make a great game table for the kids playroom. It is a little loose, but luckily hubby is a contractor and woodworker. He will be able to fix it up. Then I will paint it. I like that we will be able to store games below while they can play on the table top above.
Globe
This old globe was perfect for my sons room. But after posting it on facebook, I have a new idea for it. ;) Thanks Girl in Air. Check out what she did with her globe! It is so cool. I am definitely painting mine!
Books, Books, Books
I found a complete set of the Young Student Learning Library. Out dated but still fun for the kids. I also found some Child Craft books. Thought they would be fun to go through.
Oh and I even picked up a couple Golden Books. I am collecting them for a fun project for the kids. Coming soon!
School Desk
I have a couple of these desks but this one was the best bargain so far. I found this one for only $10. The last one I found was $50. This desk is in great shape and only needed to be cleaned up. I may add my own fun touches, but not sure yet. For now I like it the way it is.
Sorry for the bad lighting on this pic. :(
Milk Glass
At the first thrift store I found a beautiful milk glass dish on the left of the photo. This is my first milk glass purchase and I LOVE it. After lunch we came across another thrift store that was not open yet. They had moved shops and were setting up. They were sweet enough to let us in to browse. That is where I found that big vase in the center of the photo. ;) At our last stop I found a milk glass vase for $1. And after I loaded my things in the car I went back in, my mom had found more. So we picked some and I got a few more. All pictured on the right. I have officially started my milk glass collection. I can't wait to display them.
Wooden Balloon Decor
Lastly, I found something super cute for a birthday party. Someone had made lil wooden balloons with faces painted on them. They were at the thrift store for $.50 each. $3 in all. I plan on making a birthday wreath with these and displaying the balloons in 3's. Aren't they cute!?! We just had a birthday here, but have another coming up in a couple weeks, so this will be done immediately.
