Hi! My name is Emily aka "Toad" from Toad's Treasures and I am excited to be sharing this great Owl pattern and tutorial with you! {No, I did not pick this nickname!:) I was given the name "Toad" by my grandma when I was a baby because she said I swam like a toad in the tub! Although growing up my siblings would call me EmmyToad or Toadface...nice, I know!} Like many of you, I'm a mom, wife, and love to craft in between. I just got my 1st sewing machine last year so I'm a total rookie, but now I'm addicted. Since I'm a "newbie" I struggle to understand and follow most patterns, so I like to make my own & then share them on my blog. I've received GREAT feedback on this pattern, especially from those less experienced at sewing. I hope you like it and give it a try!

How cute are these owls from Pottery Barn Kids? I took one look and knew that I would never pay $20-30 for one, but I just might be up for the challenge of creating my own!

It is especially nice to be able to quickly change the outer shell for an evening out. No more Hubby telling me to hurry up while I change contents. Plus when we switch over, don’t you always forget to get something. Then oh great, it’s in the other purse. Not with The Miche Bag. You have everything you need, always.

Not only do they offer this great Miche Big Base Bag with Shells, they also Small Miche Bag Shells. They are so cute and would be perfect for a quick night out when you only need a couple things. There are so many Shells to choose from too! I love the variety. That isn’t it! Guess, what!!! You can make your very own “Custom Miche”, create your own shell. Just add your image and text in their online design area. It is so easy. I did it just for fun, but now that I saw it, I think I just might have to get one. They would make great gifts too! I can see many Grandmas walking around with their grandkids pictures. How cute would that be. You have to go play with this today.

Spring Cleaning

I can't believe that I'm going to show you
what I'm about to show you.
I'm embarrassed.
It's gross.
But I have to believe that if I have these issues
then maybe someone else out there does too.
And if you had found a solution to something this awesome
I'd want you to share it with me too.

Enter, the pumice stone.
Great for getting rid of that rough skin on your heels.
We've all got it, don't be afraid to admit it.
BUT, that's not all...

It's also AWESOME and getting caked on gross stuff off your
bathroom tile,

toilet,
sink,
shower door,
you name it!

First put on some gloves
(especially if you're trying to get rid of the ring around the toilet).
Then get the pumice stone wet
and scrape till your arm falls off.
Then scrape some more.
Then the nastiness should be gone!
Enter my proof...

This is the sink in the kids bathroom.
The sink is at a weird angle so the water doesn't always go all the way down.
So, it just sits there.
It was already gross when we bought the house.
Sure, it got a little worse since we moved in.
But now it's better!!!
It's not perfect but much

MUCH

better.

I'm doing the happy dance because it's getting
the gross caked on gunk off the tile in my shower.
Oh and it does wonders on glass shower doors
that are coated with soap scum.

Okay, so maybe I'm the only one with these problems.
Leave some comment love and tell me I'm not alone.
I don't care if you have to lie!!!

But seriously go try it, it works!
It doesn't scratch the surface but gets all the nasty stuff out of there.
It even worked on a little rust spot that was on the kids tub
(from the previous owner).
You know ladies, the rust spots from
certain cans of shaving cream.
I don't use them so I know the rust was from someone else.

Anyway, that's my helpful tip of the week.
Hope you can have sparkling clean toilets,
sinks and tubs for your company!

Azula Review

The Azula is a water resistent and flexible mat that moms place on the edge of the swimming pool to keep their bathing suit from snagging. Because of it’s unique properties mom’s use our product for stadium bleachers, car trips with little ones, indoor swimming pools, and more. The Azula protects clothing from dirt and stains and rolls up to make the perfect stocking stuffer.

Azula mats are:

-Water resistant

-Flexible, durable and lightweight

-Roll up, tie with built-in cord and go!

Also great year-round for sitting on sports bleachers, working out, boating, gardening, water parks, the beach, children’s use and more.

Winter uses for the Azula are:

•place in a child’s car seat while traveling to absorb spills, potty accidents food crumbs, etc.
•place on cold damp bleachers to protect clothing
•for sitting poolside at indoor swimming lessons.

It’s made for keeping children and parents clean, where ever they go! (We even created a whimsical Azula that says “Time Out” on it, so parents have a time out mat for their children, always!)

★ I received the “Beach Ball blue on red” Azula mat thanks to makers of Azula. It is so durable and very well made. I love that I can wash it to without ruining it. And their designs are adorable. So many to choose from. I have really enjoyed having mine. Since the weather is cooler, I haven’t been able to use it by the pool, but I have used it a lot in other ways. We have been to a few early morning soccer games, and instead of using a blanket that soaks through the dew or sprinklers, I used my Azula mat. It was great. I didn’t have to worry about lugging in my chair, all I had to bring was my rolled up Azula. Love it! With 4 kids tagging along, it made it much easier. We have even used it in the car. My daughter, when falling asleep, still has accidents. So we have her sit on it in the car when we know it will be a long trip or late night out. We have only had 1 accident and it made for easy clean up. Another use I found handy was using it as a placemat. My kids spill their cereal bowls all the time so this helped soak up most of the spills. I love this mat and recommend it to all mommy’s. I can’t wait to use it by the pool! ★
