Giraffalaff Limbo Review

It's the hilarious, bend over backwards game!
GIRAFFALAFF’s got himself all tangled up again. You’ll need to crouch, duck, scoot and crawl your way under him as the music plays. But watch out- he’s extremely ticklish! If you knock him down you’ll get goofy giggles going and be out of the game. How low can you go before GIRAFFALAFF lets his laughter loose?

Includes Giraffalaff plaque with 2 clips, 3 foam tubes, electronic module with support tube, 8 leaf bar supports, two 3-piece limbo poles, two bases, spinner and instructions.

Requires 2 C batteries (not included).
For 2 or more players. Ages 3 and up.

I received Giraffalaff Limbo thanks to Hasbro games. Your kids will have a blast playing with this kids game. Giraffalaff Limbo is great for game night at home, birthday parties, playdates and so much more. It plays music, which is adorable and if you knock over the giraffe, he giggles. So no more, "I didn't touch it!" LOL You know because sometimes kids, as innocent and sweet as they are, just don't want to admit they touched the bar. The best part is the kids have so much fun with the giggles, that they don't even care that they didn't win. They are too busy laughing. My kids love playing with this kids game and yours will too!

What I love....
  • It's fun for all ages. Yes! Mom and Dad you will have fun with this game too!
  • The music and giggles make this kids game so fun.
  • Your kids will enjoy playing this together and you will love hearing them giggle. (Get the video camera out. Trust me! It's priceless)
  • Giraffalaff Limbo is affordable. Only $29.99 WOW! Find it Here.
  • They even have a video. Go Here and click on the video tab to see how much fun you can have with this game.

Delish-i-ous Cooked Asparagus

How to Cook Asparagus

My husband I have recently started the lifestyle change
that we've been after for years and years.

It hasn't been as bad to eat healthy foods
as I thought it would be.
We're eating many more fresh fruits and veggies
and still get our potatoes and bread from time to time as well.

One thing that he was more willing to try than I was,
was asparagus.
I had never bought asparagus before...
to which my husband commented,
"are we grown up now?"

So, I thought that since I had no idea how to fix
asparagus to be edible maybe someone
else out there in bloggy land might benefit from
a little lesson in asparagus cooking as well.

Start by washing the asparagus.
The asparagus has a natural breaking point at the bottom.
Find that point and break the ends off each piece.
Or you can find that part on one and cut the others.
Lay the asparagus on a cookie sheet or roasting pan.
Sprinkle some olive oil on the pieces and make sure each one gets coated.
Then sprinkle on some sea salt and add some cracked pepper.
Put the pan in a preheated 450 degree oven
and roast for 5 minutes for crisp-tender asparagus,
8 minutes for softer asparagus.
Enjoy!

Variations:
You could also sprinkle with parmesean cheese once its out of the oven.
You could grill the asparagus or also boil it on the stove.

Know matter what style you are into, Carolina Pad has it! What a great way to organize your life. I receivedCarolina Pad's "Hot Chocolate Design" for review. A Fun and Fabulous Design....Yum! I use every item to help organize different areas in my life. Use these products to fashionably organize family activities, school work, recipes, coupons, notes for a test, health care information, bills, art projects, creative writing . . . the sky is the limit! Love that. Having these products has saved me a lot of time.

What I love....

  • The Hot Chocolate Student Planner is a great 19 month planner that you can use for your everyday appointments, reminders, mommy and me play days, birthdays and so much more. It has an address book in the back as well as notes. With a very durable cover, you can keep this tucked away in your purse. This planner also has snag resistant coils and tab dividers. Great for any mom or student.
  • You have to get the Hot Chocolate Accordion Folder too! I use mine to help organize my kids school work. Every year I like to keep special projects the kids made or tests that they did really well on. I normally store them in plastic bags until I have time to put them in folders. So this Folder has really helped me clean up my office space and keep my kids special work in a safe place. Carolina Pad even has a smaller version of the folder that I use for all my coupons. Every Sunday I clip so many coupons and throw them in an envelope, now when I pull this cute folder out at the store, I feel so stylish. Much better than that torn up envelope.
  • Notes, Notes and more Notes! Oh My! So many notebooks to choose from. Small, medium and large notebooks for everything you need. Take them to school, throw a small one in your purse to record those baby moments you don't want to forget, make lists, reminders or you could even take this out to dinner to keep the kids busy. They will love their own style as well. Buy them for your kids to take to school.
  • Hot Chocolate Stick-on Notes & Flags are a great way to quickly write a note to your kids teacher, reminders, sweet notes in your kids lunch boxes, saving a favorite page in a magazine or book. You will get 50 Stick-on Notes and 200 Stick-On Flags. WOW!
  • Last but not least, I received the Hot Chocolate Binder, File Folders and Tab Dividers. This is perfect for me because I have a home based business and it helped me organize my receipts and orders. My desk has never looked more lovely.

Soap Balls Tutorial

Exploding Soap Balls

Found this recipe in a book (sorry I can't remember which book) that I purchased through a book club. Know the little boys and girls will have fun with these.

What you will need.....

  • 2 1/4 c baking soda
  • 1 c citric acid
  • 1 c cornstarch
  • bowls, large and small
  • essential oils
  • food coloring
  • mister filled with water
  • small ice cream scoop
  • waxed paper
What to do.....

  • First... mix baking soda, citric acid & cornstarch in a large bowl
  • Second... take out half of this mixture and put in your small bowl. Set aside the large bowl for later use. In the small bowl, add a few drops of your fragrant oils and a few drops of food coloring. Mix well.
  • Third... take another 1/2 of the mixture and add it to your small bowl. Mist with water so it sticks together. DO NOT add to much or the mixture will fizz.
  • Fourth... Use a small ice cream scoop to form soap balls. Be CAREFUL when shaping them. They will be fragile and may fall apart. Then transfer them to wax paper.
  • Fifth... Get 1/2 c of the mixture from the large bowl and repeat steps 2-4 until you have used up all your dry mixture.
  • Six... Let your soap bombs dry for a minimum of 24 hours on the waxed paper.
HAVE FUN MAKING THESE FUN EXPLODING SOAP BALLS. YOUR KIDS WILL LOVE DROPPING THEM IN THE BATH WATER. DON'T FORGET TO MAKE A VARIETY OF COLORS.

Other uses....

  • Display them in a clear jar on the counter for easy access.
  • Give them as party favors
  • Make great mothers day gifts
  • Take them outside and let the kiddos make them fizz in puddles or buckets outside.

Football centerpiece

Football Centerpiece

Blogs and websites are full of inspiring ideas for
Valentine's Day right now.
I'm very excited to do some of the projects that I've seen.
But first things first.
What about the SuperBowl!

We're having a Super Bowl party again this year,
so I wanted to make some decorations
to make the party more festive.

I did find a few ideas online and some of
those sparked other ideas.
So, for now I'll share a tutorial on the football centerpiece I made,
and you can check my blog later for
some other football related crafts.

You can also go check out my blog to see
how I adapted this craft for Valentine's Day.

Here is the finished product.
Cute, right?

Gather your materials:

  • construction paper,
  • fun foam paper,
  • paper towel tube
  • paper plate
  • scissors
  • double sided tape
  • regular tape
  • white-out or white paint pen
  • and pipe cleaners
  • (although the glue is in the photo I never used it)

This is the stash for the football centerpiece.
Trace your paper plate upside down onto green construction paper.

Cut out the circle you just drew and trace the paper towel tube in the center of that circle and cut that out as well.

Decorate your circles with yard lines.

Cover the paper towel tubes with brown (football) construction paper.

Some of the tube will not get covered if you use a standard sheet of paper and that's okay.

Cut about five slits in the bottom of the tube that's not covered all the way up to where the paper starts.

Fold these slits out at the same point on each one in order to make the tube stand up.

Poke eight holes in the top of the tube, alternate high and low (4 high and 4 low)

Put the end of the tube through the hole in the colored construction paper.

I put double sided tape on these little "legs"

Using the colored construction paper as a guide put the legs of the paper towel tube onto the paper plate and secure with tape.

I also used some double sided tape on the 40 and 20 yard lines to secure the construction paper to the plate.

Cut out football shapes from the brown fun foam and draw stitch lines on with paint pen or white out.

Tape the football or heart shapes to pipe cleaners that have been cut in half.

Add pipe cleaners to the already poked holes in the top of the paper towel tube. I suggest bending the pipe cleaner up so that it is more secure.

Cut out a goal post. I made sure that the bottom
was the same size as the paper towel roll so I could just slip it in.

And then stand back and admire your work!
Place it on the table with all the great (yummy but not good for you) appetizers.

I got this idea from here...but then promptly changed some things to make them better (in my opinion)

I'd love to see your take on this project. Make sure to link back here with your version!
