Cookie Dough Bites Factory -App Review

Do you have an iPad, iPhone, Use iTunes?

I was asked to review a fun new app called Cookie Dough Bites Factory. It's a FREE app available in iTunes.

I laughed when I got the email because my daughters had just asked me two days before if they could download it. I have it set up to automatically download new apps on my phone. So it popped up on my phone too but I hadn't tried it yet. Once I read my review request, I checked it out more. It is so Fun! I loved it and so did my kids.

In this app you get to make fun candies. 

I started off by picking Factory One. In there you pick the Chocolate Chip Cookie Mix. You head over to the ingredients area.

Mix all the ingredients for your CDB (Cookie Dough Bites). Be careful not to overfill the bins or you will lose your precious batter. LOL 

Next it shows you how much dough you wasted and how much you completed. It loads the dough crates onto a pallet. Fun! 

Then you head over to the candy coating area. This is the exciting part. You get to spray the CDB's with chocolate. But be sure to spray them quickly before they fall through the bin. Very exciting! 

Again, you visit the Pallet room seeing your progress. I didn't waste one CDB. Go ME! 

Now it's time to discard those bad bites on the conveyor belt that don't quite meet standards. ;0) Be quick and remember to place them in the correct place. There are uncoated and rejects. LOL The kids love it and feel like they are little workers.  Oh and they move fast, well not too fast, but its exciting!

One more stop in the pallet dock. I completed 84 successful CDB's. Yeah! I lost a few. :( Can you beat my score? I dare you. HA! HA! I want  to beat my score. I know I can do better. See, its addicting. You and the kiddos will have fun with this! 

Lastly, your progress for the round and given stars. I got 8 out of 10 stars. Not bad for a first time player. Eh?

So, yes there are other factories! 3 to be exact! 

In this FREE version (with ads) you are able to choose from the CDB's and from Cupcake Bites in Factory Two. Mmmm. They are cute sprinkle cupcake bites. It plays the same way as in Factory One, just with different ingredients. It also is a little more advanced. Not much more but I noticed that I spilled a little more of my ingredients in this one. The bins have lids and works with RED lights and GREEN lights. If you go too long, the lid will close and your ingredients will spill on the floor. :( I lost too much the first time and had to start over. But hey! Makes me better at it. A good challenge!

Be sure to check out Headquarters for your progress. It shows you what you wasted and what you completed. As well as how many stars you earned.

There is an Ad FREE version available. Just enter the Warehouse. There you can purchase new flavors, upgraded tools for your stations, and a fun sprinkle pack. Each of them have different prices. But if you are interested in everything, you can get it all too for one price. Since this is a new game, the price is a little higher than normal. From what I understand it is an introductory upgrade price and will eventually be lowered. So keep a look out! 

My thoughts....I think the cost is worth it now too though. If you think about it, apps are the cheapest games out there. My hubby and I chose iPods for our kids over other products for that reason. We thought, "WOW, cheap games that can be downloaded on more than one device or buy one expensive game that can only be used on one device?" Not to mention that if it gets ruined, you have to buy another. So apps are our choice for fun games for the kids. If they delete it, we can always reload it! AWESOME! And there are so many FREE and cheap apps to choose from. That's our thought about that anyway! ;o)

Heard on the Playground Review

Heard on the Playground is a really fun site where you can share stories.  Stories of what kids say!! I have read so many cute stories over there from grandparents, parents, kids and people who have overheard stories too! So fun!

Buckalope Elementary: Review and Giveaway

When Sandy contacted me about doing a review of the first episode of Buckalope Elementary I was ready to receive it but knew nothing of the product. I was excited to learn that this was an Educational DVD with puppets. Something my kids love!

My son is a TV junkie...but he won't admit it. But the kid could sit in front of the tv all day (but I don't let him of course...well, not every day ;)). He LOVES puppets. When we found the cat in the hat dvds that were puppets he went nuts. So, I knew he would love this DVD and I was not mistaken. From the moment the episode started with the lively puppets and catchy music he was glued to the tv. He learned more about different careers and how not everyone is made to be a famous musician or actor. He has asked to watch the dvd many times. He always asks to watch the "puppet show".

Bucalope Elementary has a great product here. The puppets are well made and they don't look cheesy. The songs are catchy and well written and the story line was great. My daughter loved to watch it too and asked lots of questions about the careers that were mentioned in the dvd. It was a great teaching opportunity. We look forward to catching the next episode.

Dot Girl First Period Kit Review and Giveaway

It also shares when you may begin your period. There is nothing worse than starting to bleed and not know why. I think informing our daughters at a young age is a must. And I believe that this kit is a good way to introduce the subject to your tween girls.

This book is very easy to read. Your daughters will be able to easily read through it with you or on her own and understand what to expect. She will learn the right questions to ask you too! I love that is makes the subject so easy for us moms too! My daughter and I had a lovely conversation about her first period. She has even come to me with more questions without being embarrassed. My Memories - Review and Giveaway

For the past five years I have been taking an insane amount of pictures. You see, that's when my first child was born. I've been a photographer longer than I've been a mother, but I've been capturing my own family memories in great detail for almost five years. I always took photos of my husband and I when we went on vacation or when we were visiting friends but didn't just randomly snap off 100 photos because my hubby was looking so cute (I don't think he would let me). I have always been the one taking the photos and placing each printed photo into an organized album with care. I have shelves of photo albums and LOVE looking through them. I entered the digital scene full time about a year and a half into my journey as a mother and the number of images of my family skyrocketed. However, the number of photo albums to look through plummeted. The images are stuck on my computer. Many people say, "You're a photographer you must have your photos all over your home and you must have tons of albums". The sad thing is...I don't. And I'm slowly trying to remedy that.

I tried traditional paper scrapbooking for a while and I love to do that, but once Naomi was born my time was cut in two. Add two more kids to the mix now and well, you get the picture. I discovered digital scrapbooking and jumped on board with full force. My computer was very slow after a while of doing this and I got very frustrated with trying to create even one page. I only have one "almost finished" album of random pages from Naomi's first year. So sad. Eventually I just started uploading images online and putting them in a cookie cutter, boring old album just to get them off my computer. This works but it's not me, it's not pretty. One thing I make sure to have done is a birthday album for each of my kids after their birthdays. Their album includes pictures from the party, a letter from us, photos from their birthday photo session and a few pages with my favorite images from the past year. I love doing these and know that at least something is getting printed and my kids will have some way to remember their childhood. Digital media is constantly changing. If we do not print our images how are we guaranteed that our children will be able to access the images from their childhood?

Maybe you have Photoshop or some other digital editing program, I hope you are using it. But if you are like me, it still takes time to learn the program and to design pages that will make you happy. I was so excited to learn about My Memories digital scrapbooking software it is the perfect response to my dilemma. My dilemma being; finding the time to properly preserve the memories that I am capturing day in and day out of my children and finding a way to easily showcase our memories so that we can sit down as a family and reminisce and not have to crowd around my computer screen.

My husband was telling me the other day how he'd like for me to start printing more photos so that we could look through albums again. I was kind of surprised by this but then again not really. You can also use any of the papers and embellishments that you have in your personal digital stash. The software is not very difficult to figure out and if you need help with something there are video tutorials online. It's like they hold your hand and walk you through it so you have no excuse to not be able to make the software work for you. They also have a TON of digital products to help you in your quest for the perfect layout. I will admit that I am picky when it comes to digital scrapbook supplies and I have a specific style that I look for. The designs at My Memories are awesome. I found myself making a list of all the kits I wanted to buy...*shhhh* don't tell my husband ;).

You have to go to the website and check out all the great things you can do with your pages once they are created. Gone are the days of scrapbook pages lying dormant on your hard drive. Grand Opening of My Shop

In case you didn't see my Shop button above. ;-) 

I wanted to share with you that I opened up my Trendy Treehouse Shop.

I am offering you personalized prints. Each print is made with your colors and information. Some will be for your child's birth information, there are letters of the alphabet and also letters with your child's name. I am also going to offer other decor items for kids rooms and bathrooms, hand painted personalized plaques, home decor prints and photography. Occasionally I will have some items that I have made (sewn or crafted).

Here are a couple examples of the Birth Info Prints. NO! The information is not accurate. LOL I would never share anyones personal information! Eeekkk!
I will be offering these prints with some images and or graphics in the future too!

These are my Alphabet Prints with Names. These are so fun to make because I can make them to match your child's bedroom colors and I love seeing all the cool ways you spell names. I really like adding graphics to them too. It really makes the print come alive!

The prints that are only the Alphabet Letters are fun too because you can buy all the letters for your name. Spell it out in frames on your wall or shelf. They look really neat with all the different colors and graphics. I don't have the full alphabet up just yet, but they will be up very soon!

I can't wait to share my new designs with you when I add them in. I am adding new products in daily, so keep checking. I am working on decor prints for kids rooms and bathrooms.
