♥ Guest Blogger ♥

All Things BeautifulI normally run Guest Bloggers on Sundays, but my internet was down and I wasn't able to add it in. So I wanted to make sure today I shared with you...
Charity's fun project. She has an adorable blog called "All Things Beautiful"
and she is here today to share a fun stencil project that I know you will love.
Make sure you stop by and follow her and to check out all her other wonderful posts.

Now on to her great tutorial...

I'm Charity from Alberta, Canada.  I am the mother of four little chicklets, and I have one amazing hubby (who, by the way, has any tool I could ever need for my projects *sigh*).  I started blogging because first I found out they are really fun to read, and second because I have all this creativity building up that I needed an outlet for.  Although I have to say I sure get a lot more projects finished now (now that I have an audience waiting for my arrivals!)  I love yard sale-ing and thrift store shopping!  So don't hold me back, because come Spring I am setting my alarm to be the first at a yard sale, and will likely bowl you over in a thrift store if I see something I love and want to get it first!  I love finding cheap things and giving them new life, and I love using odd bits of what I find around me and using them for projects.  I love Anything and All Things Beautiful.  But when you can't find it, you can make it!

His and Hers Hooks

I started out with these two wooden plaques that I got at the Michael's Craft Store.  They were $2.69 each.

I primed them and painted them white.  I figured I would make the project a black and white theme, since that is what she is going with for her wedding colours.

I remembered a stamp I bought that I love, and hadn't used for anything yet, and this was the perfect project to use it for.  I painted the stamp with black paint and blotted on paper towel to make it a lighter more distressed shade.  Although, this picture I have posted below was before I decided it needed to be lighter (I had to make a quick fix!).

I bought these knobs and two back plates at Home Depot for $1.48 (knob), $.98 (back plate).

Of course I wanted these to match too, so I painted them black as well.

I had a friend make some vinyl up to say "HIS" "HERS", and the little stinker wouldn't let me pay for it!  But supposedly it would only cost a couple bucks (so keep that in mind- still cheap)

Lastly, I drilled a hole in the back to screw in the knob and back plate.

Okay...   ahh, are you ready for it!
Voila!

And there you have it!

I forgot to mention that I am putting a thing on the back (I can't think of the name of it - but I know what it is in my mind), so that you can hang these on the wall, and with the little knobs you can hang anything off them... towels, bathrobe, jewelry, ties, whatever!!

I am pleasantly pleased with myself.  Cute!!!  Well, enough of me, I hope you get inspired!!

Cost:
Wooden Plaques: $2.69 each
Back Plate: $.98 each
Knob: $1.48 each
Stamp: Had on hand
Leveling Hanger (the hook on the back): $1.49 (set of 6)
Vinyl: from a friend
Total: $11.79

Miche Bag Review

The Miche Bag presents a new line of designer hand bags like you never seen before! It’s chic, fun, stylish and it’s all the same bag. With the Miche Bag you can change the look of your handbag by simply changing the shell! Forget all the time and hassle of transfering your things from one bag to another with the Miche Bag you can have a new look in 3 seconds or less!

When offered the chance to review these beautiful changeable purses, I jumped at the chance. They are adorable and so functional. I was able to choose my top 3 Shell Choices and I was so excited to get 2 of my choices along with the Miche Base Bag. I love purses. What woman doesn’t? I admit, I do like to change the look often. So once I heard what this purse was, I was so excited. I myself like a big purse, so I chose from theBig Shells. I am currently carrying around the “Allie” Shell. It is so adorable. It has a yellow floral imprint and made of patent faux leather. I also received the “Lexi”Shell. Oh my gosh! So, so nice. It is a Giraffe print faux leather with red accents. Both of them fit the Miche Big Base Bag, which is nice enough as it is to carry around. That is what I love. It is like have 3 purses in 1. It is especially nice to be able to quickly change the outer shell for an evening out. No more Hubby telling me to hurry up while I change contents. Plus when we switch over, don’t you always forget to get something. Then oh great, it’s in the other purse. Not with The Miche Bag. You have everything you need, always.

Not only do they offer this great Miche Big Base Bag with Shells, they also Small Miche Bag Shells. They are so cute and would be perfect for a quick night out when you only need a couple things. There are so many Shells to choose from too! I love the variety. That isn’t it! Guess, what!!! You can make your very own “Custom Miche”, create your own shell. Just add your image and text in their online design area. It is so easy. I did it just for fun, but now that I saw it, I think I just might have to get one. They would make great gifts too! I can see many Grandmas walking around with their grandkids pictures. How cute would that be. You have to go play with this today.

I love these purses. Thank you so much Michelle and Annette. Your product is amazing. I show it off to everyone! I look forward to buying many more shells.

Friendship Bracelet Maker Review

It is simple yet brilliant. While babysitting his granddaughters they asked David to make friendship bracelets with them. This is a trend that has a recent surge in popularity as moms teach their kids this age old tradition with a bit of nostalgia. Friendship Bracelets are seen all over TV, and Tweens everywhere are making them. The process of making them involves securing a knot (online instructions will tell you to pin to your pants or hold with a nail in the wall!) and keeping the strings in order while knotting the threads. After one experience with the grandkids David decided their must be a better way!

I bought the "My Friendship Bracelet Maker" for my daughter's 9th birthday. Which in fact is TODAY! She opened it up and was so excited. She loves to make things and this is perfect. A great way to teach her how without all that string getting in the way. I wish I had one when I was a girl. I remember using a safety pin and either attaching it to my jeans or comforter. LOL She got hers this past Friday. An early gift at her "friend party", so we tried it out last night. It was so easy to show her how to make it with the help of the adorably made bracelet maker. It comes with simple basic instructions and thread too. Which by the way is stored neatly below. Love that! Very handy. She picked out her thread, tied a knot in the top, added it to the cute butterfly holder and spread out all the string. I love that each strand has it's own section because it helps the kids remember what strand comes next. Once you get to the end, just simply start at the 1 strand again and so on. When you are done (don't forget to measure your wrist) either keep it for yourself or give to a girlfriend. I think this is a great tool for young girls who love to make their own friendship bracelets. These would make great gifts and fun birthday parties too! How fun would it be to have a party and each girl gets to make their own bracelet as a favor. I love the Friendship Bracelet Maker and just had to share it with all of you!

Things that I love....
  • Easy to use
  • Stores thread in the below compartment
  • Cute for any age (even mommy's will love it)
  • Comes with easy to understand instructions
  • Adorable colors and Butterfly that hold thread in place
  • Would make great gifts for parties or any time
  • You can join their friendship club
  • Play fun games online too!

Treasure Chest Pets Review

The World’s FIRST organizer that makes putting things away FUN!

Treasure Chest Pets are a new patented line of organizers with secret compartments that look like fun stuffed animals for girls and boys.

They feature attachable pillow heads to snuggle up with and specially designed bodies that organize and store treasures on the inside and out!

My head is a pillow so we can snuggle up tight…

My body is made so you can store things right…

But best of all I have a SECRET SPACE

To keep all your special treasures in just the right place!

I received the “Cow” and “Monkey” Treasure Chest Pet for review. Thesefunctional stuffed animals are not only useful, they are adorable and soft. All of my 4 kids are big on their own space and keeping things just for them. With 4 of them, who can blame them for wanting a little privacy. Especially my son. These Treasure Chest Pets are a great way for them to keep their special things safe. I really like that they can remove the pillow and take it with them. We have taken them in the car and normally the kids want to bring along a toy, so this is perfect. They can bring the toy and TC Pet pillow together and keep it tucked away, leaving my car clean. It is also a great hiding place for their special jewelry, a little spending cash, makeup, keepsakes and so much more. I think this is a great product and all parents would love to have one for their kids!

Things that I love...

✻ Guest Blogger ✻

I am so excited to share with you all another Guest Blogger this week. "Adrienne" over at "Kitschalicious" is here with a very fun tutorial. She also has a very cute blog. So head on over and share some following "Love"

~ Now on to our Guest Blogger ~

[wow+2+-+edited.jpg]Hello! My name is Adrienne and I'm the author of Kitschalicious! I have a full time job of being a "Domestic Engineer". I have been blessed with two beautiful children and although they keep me very busy, I try to find time (usually after they are in bed) to work on something crafty. It may be a little scrapbooking, making some kind of knick-knack, something for the kids, etc, etc. Usually I get my ideas from magazines, those free "how-to's" from Hobby Lobby, and the internet. While surfing the net, I came across a few blogs and thought to myself, "huh, this looks like fun! I want to do this too!". ThenKitschalicious was born. The only thing I regret is not finding the wonderful world of blogland before. Other than that, I'm having so much fun! I've met some wonderful people and I'm looking forward to meeting you to. So please don't be shy and come over to say "hi!" (Okay, I really didn't mean for that to rhyme!)

Baby Shorts Clutch Purse

I did this project last night and I absolutely love it! I took an old pair of London's shorts and turned it into a clutch purse. It was so easy to make, but I must warn you that the reason it was easy is because I have no idea how to make a liner. But I figured, what the hey, nobody will see the inside anyway, right? Here's how to make one for yourself (or a friend, relative, okay, you get the gist!).

MATERIALS NEEDED:

*Old pair of shorts (I used size 12 mos, but you can use any size)

*Scissors

*Straight Pins

*Sewing Machine
*Thread
*Velcro

*Optional: Fabric Glue (In case you don't have the sticky back velcro like me)

DIRECTIONS:

Cut a straight line between the bottom of the shorts to make a full opening, kind of like a skirt.

Turn the shorts inside out.

Pin the legs together.
(As for the stain, I have no idea what London does sometimes, so just ignore. Heh.)

Sew a straight line all the way across. I did a couple of backstitches on both ends to keep it from coming undone.

Cut about 1/4" to 1/2" outside of the seam you just sewed.

Turn right side out.

Take your velcro...

...and adhere it to the inside of your purse.

The finished product should look like this:

And here is the inside view.

I'm not quite complete with this. I want to had some small handles and I definitely have to add some embellishments. Maybe some flowers and an applique of some sort. I just haven't decided yet.

I really hope you enjoyed this tutorial. If you have any questions, be sure to ask. I tried to explain as easy as possible. Let me know if you tried making one yourself. I'd love to see! Have a great day my friends!

Thanks, Adrienne
